1.1 This specification defines the minimum requirements for the manufacture of Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) storage tanks. The requirements are in addition to and supplement the requirements of ASME RTP-1 “Reinforced Thermoset Plastic Corrosion Resistant Equipment”. 1.2 This specification covers cylindrical tanks having internal or external pressure not exceeding 103 KPa (15 psi) and used in process plants (onshore and offshore), bulk plants, building services, fuel dispensing, and community facilities for the storage of the following services: a) Water. b) Oily water. c) Combustible products (Hydrocarbons, Alcohols, Alcohol-Gasoline Mixtures). d) Flammable liquids. e) Chemicals.
